Objects and textures flickering/shimmering - posted in Skyrim Mod Troubleshooting: Hi, my issue is that whenever I go towards an object or move, the textures seem to flicker or shimmer, and I dont know how to resolve it. I use an ENB which uses its own anti-aliasing, which means I had to disable skyrims AA. Idk if the ENBs AA works because I see jagged edges in a lot of objects, and is more ... So, my problem is, that anti-aliasing doesn't work in all my games. There is a very bad shimmering even on static image with TAA, while all the other AA methods (FXAA, MSAA, SMAA...) have extreme jaggies and flickering edges. This issue was triggered once I installed RTX 2080 Ti to my main PC.Sep 10, 2009 · You could also try fiddling with the anti aliasing settings, both in the driver (if the driver has a control panel like ATI or Nvidia does), and in the game itself. Hello! I forced Anti Aliasing and Supersampling in the Nvidia Panel. That worked great for ME1, but in ME2 there is no result. Also, I know that Anti-aliasing refers to a technic (mainly of blurring) to remove (our camouiflage) aliasing. But I was presented a question about "A picture flickering in a game room when the user moves" and the answer was given as being an aliasing problem. I did not get the relation between flickering and aliasing. Can someone clarify it to me?
Temporal anti-aliasing (also known as TAA) is a anti-aliasing technique to reduce temporal aliasing (flickering or shimmering effects). This technique can be combined with FXAA for better quality.
The injector works pretty well for the Anti-Aliasing part (it's very cool to be able to switch it on and off with a key stroke!) but the game becomes unplayable due to the poor performance of the integrated chipset.
This is probably rendering 101, but I’ve been having trouble with the quality of my renders lately. Sometimes I’m working on a project that will not allow me the luxury of time to crank up things like Final Gather rays, filters, diffuse bounces, Samples, etc. Lately I’ve found that I can not get the texture quality and model detail I want unless I do almost all of the following: Sampling ...

May 15, 2014 · You do need to use a scaling process that will perform good quality pixel blending, image re-sampling or another form of anti-aliasing. A straight re-size will result in aliasing which can appear as either flicker, moire or a combination of both. Another alternative is to apply a 2 or 3 pixel blur to the 4K footage BEFORE re-sizing the image to HD.
Anti-aliasing is essentially the technology that programmers use to fix shimmering and other such issues in digital videos. Objects in real life have infinite resolution. But a screen has a limited resolution which means you need to decide which pixels to light up and in which colour.

On the FS5, FS7 and F5/F55 cameras whenever you go above 60fps there will be aliasing because you are reading a 4K sensor in 2K and the anti-aliase filter is designed for 4K. The center scan mode that will come in firmware V3 will eliminate this issue. On the F5/F55 you are able to change the optical filter to a 2K filter.
Coverage Sample Anti-Aliasing (CSAA). A further optimization on MSAA from NVidia [ed: ATI has an equivalent]. Besides running the shader at 1x and the framebuffer at 4x, the GPU's rasterizer is run at 16x. So while the depth buffer produces better anti-aliasing, the intermediate shades of blending produced are even better.

I've tried adding both RunActivity.exe and RunActivityLAA.exe to the control panel in order to apply Anti-Aliasing. I've been able to apply AA before, on a build from 2014. When adding RunActivityLAA I can apply Anisotropic Filtering and vertical sync successfully. 1) Anti- Aliasing, everything above 8xq csaa is making flickering. 2) Enable Vertical synchronization, to half screen. (The enabled Vertical Synchronization was not needed for Airland Battle, just the Anti-Aliasing setting was needed to be set to 8xq csaa to stop the flickering artefact). Unfortunately, it required the system to be able to maintain at least 60 frame/s or temporal anti-aliasing would cause a noticeable flickering, because the user would be able to see the alternating AA patterns. If the framerate could not be maintained, the driver will disable Temporal AA.

It performs format conversion and frame rate conversion to produce CVBS video output with excellent signal quality preservation. Flicker is defined as the "unpleasant visual sensation induced by change in brightness of lighting (flickering)". Flicker occurs as follows: the start of the motor in an electrical device causes a large current to flow into the impedance of the distribution system, which lowers the supply voltage level and darkens the incandescent lamps connected to the power supply (refer to Figure 4). 1080p looks crisper but there's lots of flickering and jaggies. Nov 28, 2015 · It's worth noting that the higher your resolution, the less of an issue aliasing is. Aliasing is just the result of having a finite resolution. If I recall, the most common resolution was 800 x 600 when Anti-Alaising really became a thing. If you have a high resolution you very well may not need AA; especially if you've got a smaller screen.

As I explained before, there is no way to take care the temporal or subpixel aliasing. Temporal aliasing would be flickering small lines in motion and small lines would continue to flicker, and subpixel aliasing would be disconnected lines due to not being a higher resolution to see proper smooth connection.
TSW anti-aliasing techniques are awful full stop. There's no denying it. You shouldn't have to raise your screen percentage all the way to 200% just to reduce the flicker. This also puts more unnecessary strain on your GPU.
